Chapter 17.220 — DENSITY BONUS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS

§ 17.220.010. Purposes and general plan consistency.

The public good is served when there exists in a City, housing which is appropriate for the needs of, and affordable to, all members of the public who reside within that City. The City implements the housing element of the General Plan; sections 65915 through 65918 of the California Government Code; and, in accordance with those general regulations, provides incentives to developers for the production of housing affordable to lower income households, moderate-income households and senior citizens. The approval process for a density bonus project shall be the same as non-density bonus project with the same number of units, except for housing developments with 20 percent of the units affordable to lower income households on sites used in the fourth, fifth, and sixth housing element cycles which shall be approved by-right with a building permit.
