2.20.010 Established.¶
The position of city treasurer is established by the Government Code of the State of Cali- fornia, Section 36501. (Editorially amended during 1999 codification; Ord. 193 Att. C (part), 1998)
2.20.020 Election-Vacancies.¶
The position of city treasurer is elected. Vacancies in the elected office can be filled by the city council within thirty days of the vacancy. If not appointed within thirty days, an election is required. The person appointed or elected to fill the vacancy holds office for the unexposed tenn of the vacating treasurer. 2.20.030 Duties and responsibilities.¶
The duties and responsibilities of the city treasurer are established and defined into two categories. The first category is statutory as established in the California Government Code.
