2.38.010 - Date of general municipal election.

Beginning with the 2022 statewide general election, pursuant to Elections Code sections 1000, 1001, 1200, 1202, 10403.5, town general municipal elections shall be held on the date of the statewide general election held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year.

2.38.020 - Applicability of California Elections Code.

When an election is held pursuant to Section 2.38.010, and the election is consolidated with another election, the provisions contained in Part 3 (commencing with Section 10400), Division 10 of the California Elections Code shall govern the consolidation, and, if the County Clerk is requested to conduct the General Municipal Election, Section 10403 of the California Elections Code shall apply to that election.

2.38.030 - Effect on prospective town elected officers.

Pursuant to Elections Code section 10403.5, following the operative date of the ordinance from which this section is derived, terms of office shall be affected as follows:

Those town officers elected or appointed to fill the term of a town officer elected in June 2018 will serve until the certification of the 2022 statewide general election results.

Those town officers elected or appointed to fill the term of a town officer elected in March 2020 will serve until the certification of the 2024 statewide general election results.

2.38.040 - Notice to voters of change in election date.

Within thirty days after this ordinance becomes operative, the town clerk shall cause a notice to be mailed to all registered voters of the change in election date.
