15.68.010 Definitions.¶
(A) "Guidelines" mean, the Small Residential Rooftop Solar Energy Permit Guidelines established pursuant to § 15.68.020.
(B) "Small residential rooftop solar energy system" means all of the following:
(1) A solar energy system that is no larger than 10 kilowatts alternating current nameplate rating or 30 kilowatts thermal.
(2) A solar energy system that conforms to all applicable State fire, structural, electrical, and other building codes as adopted or amended by the city and paragraph (iii) of subdivision (c) of Section 714 of the Civil Code, as such section or subdivision may be amended, renumbered, or re-designated from time to time.
(3) A solar energy system that is installed on the rooftop of a single or duplex family dwelling.
(4) A solar panel or module array that does not exceed the maximum legal building height for the zone in which the dwelling is located.
(C) "Solar energy system" has the same meaning set forth in paragraphs (1) and (2) of subdivision (a) of Section 801.5 of the Civil Code, as such section or subdivision may be amended, renumbered, or re-designated from time to time.

15.68.020 Expedited permitting process for small residential rooftop solar energy systems.¶
(A) The City Council hereby delegates to the Community Development Director the duty, authority and power to establish, on or before September 30, 2015, and amend from time to time, guidelines and requirements for an expedited, streamlined permitting process for small residential rooftop solar energy systems. The guidelines shall be consistent with California Government Code Section 65850.5 and will allow for electronic submittal of permit applications and associated documentation. The Community Development Director shall also create the checklist required by California Government Code Section 65850.5 and any forms or other related documents necessary to implement this section. The guidelines, checklist and all other permitting documentation shall be accessible on the city's website (www.DiscoverCorona.com).
(B) The administrative provisions set forth in Chapter 15.02 shall apply to this Chapter 15.68.
