§ 2-6.1. Findings.¶

The Council hereby finds and determines as follows:
a. The Planning Commission and Council have caused to be prepared, approved and adopted a Comprehensive General Plan for the City in accordance with Chapter I of Title 7 of the Government Code of the State;
b. There exists within the City blighted areas as defined in Sections 33031 to 33034 inclusive of the Health and Safety Code of the State;
c. There is a need for a Community Redevelopment Agency to function in the City to promote the elimination of blighted areas by sound development and redevelopment;
d. It is in the best interests and for the general welfare of the community of Compton to have the rights, powers, duties, privileges, and immunities of the Community Redevelopment Agency exercised in the manner provided in Section 33200 of the Health Safety Code of the State; and
e. No members have been appointed to the Community Redevelopment Agency pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 1302 of the Council.
§ 2-6.2. Agency Members.¶

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 33200 of the Health and Safety Code of the State, the Council hereby declares itself to be the Community Redevelopment Agency in which all the rights, powers, duties, privileges, and immunities provided by said Health and Safety Code shall be and are vested.
