Sec. 7-3.501. - Solar shade control act.¶
The City is exempt from the provisions of Chapter 12 (commencing with Public Resources Code #25980), Division 15 of the Public Resources Code which is known as the Solar Shade Control Act.

Sec. 7-3.502. - State highway laws.¶
Nothing contained in this chapter is to be construed as modifying State law for the planting of trees along public streets as set out in Highways Code #22000, et seq.

Sec. 7-3.503. - State nuisance laws.¶
Nothing contained in this chapter is to be construed as modifying State law as set out in the California Civil Code, Health and Safety Code, Fish and Game Code, Food and Agricultural Code, Division 7 of the Water Code, or any other applicable provision of State law relating to nuisances.

Sec. 7-3.504. - Damages.¶
The City shall not be responsible, in damages or otherwise, for any damage or injury to any overhead wire or underground conduit or pipeline in any public place or street, caused by any tree or shrub planting, trimming, pruning, bracing, spraying, removal or replacement of any tree or shrub.

Sec. 7-3.505. - Certain actions.¶
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the planting, trimming, pruning or removal of trees or shrubs:
(a) When necessary for the construction of streets or buildings on public property;
(b) When determined by the Chief of Police to be necessary for traffic safety; or
(c) When ordered by the City Council.
