Sec. 7-3.301. - Delegation of authority.

The Director of Public Works may designate any individual to fulfill the obligations imposed by this chapter.

Sec. 7-3.302. - Issuance of authority.

Any person doing business as a public utility and subject to the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California or any governmental agency authorized to provide and providing public utilities shall be issued written authority by the Director of Public Works to trim, prune, cut, brace, remove or replace any tree or shrub in order to comply with the safety regulations of such commission or as may be necessary in order to maintain the usual, uninterrupted and safe providing of such public utility.

Sec. 7-3.303. - Authorized street trees and shrubs.

The Director of Public Works shall prepare and maintain and, from time to time, change and revise, a schedule of authorized trees and shrubs specifying, by species and/or types, trees and shrubs desirable and suitable for public areas and streets. No person shall plant or replace any tree or shrub in such public area or street other than or with a tree or shrub specified in the scheduled of authorized trees and shrubs.
