3.80.010 - General.¶
The provisions of this chapter recognize the general claim procedures applicable to local public agencies, including this city, are governed by the provisions of chapter 1 of division 3.6 of the Government Code of the State, commencing with section 900 and following.

3.80.020 - Delegation of authority.¶
The city council delegates authority to the director of human resources/risk management or his/her designee to review all claims for sufficiency and to reject any and all claims.
A. The director of human resources/risk management is granted authority to allow, compromise, or settle claims for an amount up to ten thousand dollars.
B. The director of human resources/risk management shall seek authority from the city manager when the amount to be paid is between ten thousand one dollars and fifty thousand dollars.
C. The city council shall have sole authority to allow, compromise, or settle claims for an amount in excess of fifty thousand dollars.
