Chapter 10.32 — SPEED LIMITS

In order to promote and protect the public health, safety and welfare, it is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that the following speed limits will facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traffic, and are reasonable and safe, and are declared the prima facie speed limits and shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected upon the streets:

A.

Prima facie speed limit declared twenty miles per hour:

Location

Apricot Avenue between Union Avenue and Bascom Avenue.

B.

Prima facie speed limit declared twenty-five miles per hour:

Budd Avenue between Winchester Boulevard and Virginia Avenue;

Burrows Road between Hacienda Avenue and Pollard Road;

Campbell Avenue between Bascom Avenue and Leigh Avenue;

Campbell Avenue between Winchester Boulevard and Orchard City Drive;

Capri Drive between Hacienda Avenue and southerly city limit;

Central Avenue between Grant Avenue and northerly city limit;

Civic Center Drive between Foote Avenue and Fourth Street;

Esther Avenue between Hamilton Avenue and Latimer Avenue;

Kennedy Avenue between Winchester Boulevard and Railway Avenue;

Latimer Avenue between Llewellyn Avenue and Central Avenue;

Latimer Avenue between San Tomas Aquino Road and Darryl Drive;

Llewellyn Avenue between Hamilton Avenue and Latimer Avenue;

Orchard City Drive between Campbell Avenue and Railway Avenue;

Paine Avenue between Winchester Boulevard and Almarida Drive;

Railway Avenue between Kennedy Avenue and Campbell Avenue;

Rincon Avenue between San Tomas Aquino Road and Virginia Avenue;

Rincon Avenue between Winchester Boulevard and Dot Avenue;

San Tomas Aquino Road between Harriet Avenue and Hacienda Avenue;

Sunnyoaks Avenue between Dell Avenue and San Tomas Expressway;

Sunnyoaks Avenue between Virginia Avenue and Winchester Boulevard;

Third Street between Hamilton Avenue and Civic Center Drive;

Victor Avenue between Latimer Avenue and Campbell Avenue;

Virginia Avenue between Campbell Avenue and Budd Avenue;

West Parr Avenue westbound between Pollard Road and Capri Drive.

C.

Prima facie speed limit declared thirty miles per hour:

Location

Bucknall Road between Virginia Avenue and westerly city limit;

Campbell Avenue between Bascom Avenue and Foote Avenue;

Curtner Avenue between Camden Avenue and easterly city limit;

Dell Avenue between Division Street and Sunnyoaks Avenue;

Hacienda Avenue between Dell Avenue and San Tomas Aquino Road;

Harriet Avenue between Westmont Avenue and San Tomas Aquino Road;

McCoy Avenue between Harriet Avenue and westerly city limit;

Salmar Avenue between Hamilton Avenue and Harrison Avenue;

San Tomas Aquino Road between Campbell Avenue and southerly city limit;

Union Avenue between Campbell Avenue and southerly city limit;

Westmont Avenue between Harriet Avenue (east) and westerly city limit;

White Oaks Avenue between Camden Avenue and Redding Avenue;

Winchester Boulevard between Hamilton Avenue and Budd Avenue.

D.

Prima facie speed limit declared thirty-five miles per hour:

Location

Bascom Avenue between northerly city limit and southerly city limit just south of Apricot Avenue;

Camden Avenue between White Oaks Avenue and easterly city limit;

San Tomas Aquino Road between Campbell Avenue and northerly city limit.

E.

Prima facie speed limit declared forty miles per hour:

Location

Bascom Avenue between Shelley Avenue and the southerly city limit;

It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law outside of business and residence districts as applicable upon the following streets is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets, and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as set forth in this section on those streets or parts of streets designated in this section when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected on the streets:
