10.40.010 - Posted property defined.¶
"Posted property" means any property used exclusively or principally for agricultural purposes, and that contains signage that is designed and placed on the property as follows:
A. Design: Signs must adhere to the following requirements:
Signs must be made of wood, metal, or other equally substantial material;
The area of each sign face is at least one square foot;
Sign faces must contain the words "PRIVATE PROPERTY - NO TRESPASS" in legible letters that are at least two inches in height, as well as any other words that may be desired indicating that trespassers are subject to prosecution; and
The color of the words on the sign faces must be either black against a white background, or white against a black background.
B. Placement: Signs must be placed on the property as follows:
Signs must be placed at each corner of the property and at each entrance to the property;
Where property exceeds one acre in size, signs must also placed along the boundaries of the property at intervals not more than three hundred feet apart; and
Sign faces must be positioned so that they are at least three feet above the normal ground level.

10.40.020 - Trespassing unlawful.¶
No person may enter into, upon, on or across the posted property of another without the permission, express or implied, of the owner, tenant or person in lawful possession or control of the posted property.

10.40.030 - Public officers exempted.¶
The provisions of this chapter do not apply to any entry upon posted property if the entry is by a peace officer in the course of the officer's duty or by any other public official when carrying out a duty imposed or authorized by law.
