Sec. 8-6.01. - Public Nuisances: Declaration.

Any building or structure, or portion thereof, including buildings or structures in the process of erection found to be dangerous to persons or property, or unsafe for the purpose for which constructed, due to damages caused by fire, the elements, sabotage, explosions, or other means constitutes a public nuisance and is subject to abatement.

Sec. 8-6.02. - Public Nuisances: Inspections: Condemnation.

Except in cases of emergency for the immediate preservation of life and property, before any action is taken to abate any public nuisance, as set forth in this chapter, such building or structure shall be inspected by the Building Official and approval shall be given for such abatement. If the Building Official determines such building or structure constitutes a public nuisance, the building or structure shall be forthwith condemned and shall not be occupied or used until it is made safe and its use is authorized by the Building Official.

Sec. 8-6.03. - Violations.

(a) The use or occupancy of a building in violation of the provisions of this chapter shall constitute a misdemeanor.

(b) This article may be enforced by administrative fine or by injunction.
