Calexico Municipal Code Ch. 12.12 Damage to Streets

Any damage to any street, highway, alley or public thoroughfare in the city resulting from the operation or the parking of any vehicle, trailer, or other mechanical device shall be repaired by the owner or operator of such vehicle, trailer or mechanical device and failure to do so shall constitute a misdemeanor. On any such failure the city may repair the damage at the expense of the owner or operator of the responsible vehicle, trailer or mechanical device.

Every person who, without permission of a majority of the council, or the chief of police, digs any ditches on the public streets or alleys, or floods the same, is guilty of a misdemeanor.

It is unlawful for any person to wash any vehicle or other object or discharge or spill any water, oil, or any other liquid upon any public street, alley, park, parkway, or any public property in the city or to leave or deposit on any public street, alley, or public way in the city any object or material that may in any way become a hazard to traffic or to any person using such street, alley or public way, or that may be injurious to the pavement or surfacing of any street, alley or public way. A violation of this section shall constitute an infraction. Every violation determined to be an infraction is punishable by (1) a fine not exceeding fifty dollars for a first violation; (2) a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a second violation within one year; (3) a fine not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars for each additional violation within one year.
