201.1 Scope.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following words and terms shall, for the purposes of this code, have the meanings shown in this chapter. [OSHPD 1, 1R, 2, 4 & 5] For terms not defined in this chapter, refer to Part 1, Chapters 6 and 7 of the California Administrative Code, and Part 2, Chapter 2 of the California Building Code.

201.2 Interchangeability. Words used in the present tense

include the future; words stated in the masculine gender include the feminine and neuter; the singular number includes the plural and the plural, the singular.

201.3 Terms defined in other codes. Where terms are not

defined in this code and are defined in the other California Codes, such terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in those codes. [DSA-SS & DSA-SS/CC] Definitions of terms given in Section 4-208 or 4-314 of the California Administra- tive Code govern over those in Section 202.

201.4 Terms not defined. Where terms are not defined through

the methods authorized by this chapter, such terms shall have ordinarily accepted meanings such as the context implies.
