Sec. 2-175. - Required official bonds.¶
(a) The following city officers and employees before entering upon the duties of their respective offices shall provide an official bond in the amount determined by the city council as required by Government Code Sections 36518 and 37209, and as authorized by Section 36519.
(1) City Manager
(2) Finance Director
(3) Treasurer
(4) Deputy Treasurer
(5) Any other officer or employee with treasury management responsibilities.
(b) The premium for official bonds required by this section are a proper charge against the City of Belmont as provided by Government Code Section 1651(e).

Sec. 2-176. - Amount and approval of official bonds.¶
(a) The penal sum of official bonds shall be a reasonable amount recommended by the city attorney and fixed by the city council resolution and may be changed during the officer or employee's term of office in accordance with Government Code Section 36518.
(b) All bonds shall be approved by the city council, signed by the mayor, and filed with the city clerk in accordance with Government Code Sections 1451 and 36520.
