12.24.010 - Establishment.¶
At all commercial and industrial locations, where access by fire apparatus for fire suppression or rescue purposes is unduly difficult or subject to obstruction, the chief of the fire department may designate fire lanes and post them as such.

12.24.020 - Locations.¶
The designation of fire lanes shall be that area in the front of a building, extending the length thereof, and be limited to a width of nine feet extending from the curb line or walkway area fronting such building.

12.24.030 - Posting.¶
Upon the designation of each fire lane, the fire chief shall cause such fire lane to be clearly marked, with adequate signs giving notice that the parking or placing of any vehicle, object or material in such fire lane is prohibited.

12.24.040 - Removal.¶
When, in the opinion of the fire department, any designated and posted fire lane is so obstructed by any object, material or vehicle that it might delay or impede the ingress or egress of occupants or fire department apparatus, then such object, material or vehicle shall be immediately removed upon order of the fire department. When such obstruction is a vehicle, it shall be immediately removed by the owner or it may be removed and impounded as provided by law.

12.24.050 - Violation.¶
A. It is a misdemeanor for any person to park or place any vehicle, object or material in any designated and posted fire lane.
B. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance by parking or placing any vehicle, object or material in a duly designated and posted fire lane, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the city or county jail not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
