2.04.010 Time and place.¶
Regular meetings of the city council shall be held in the council chambers of City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, at a time and date set annually by resolution of the city council. (Ord. 5071 § 1, 2021)
2.04.020 Authority and purpose.¶
The city council is a legislative body and is subject to the Brown Act. (Ord. 5071 § 1, 2021)
2.04.030 Rules of procedure.¶
Rules of procedure regarding the conduct of council meetings shall be set by council policy. (Ord. 5071 § 1, 2021)
2.04.040 Agenda.¶
A. There shall be prepared an agenda for each meeting of the city council which agenda shall be in accordance with applicable state and local laws and council policy.
B. The preparation of the agenda and its distribution shall be as directed by the council. (Ord. 5071 § 1, 2021)
2.04.050 Disruption.¶
All persons in attendance at city council meetings shall abide by the rules of procedure and decorum as may be established by action of the city council. Any person who willfully disrupts the orderly proceedings of the council meeting may be barred by the presiding officer from speaking further before the council during that meeting, in addition to all other available legal remedies.
