10.36.010 Loading zones—Establishment—Markings.

A. The traffic authority is authorized to determine and to mark loading zones and passenger loading zones as follows:

1. At any place in the central traffic district or any business district;

2. Elsewhere in front of the entrance to any place of business or in front of any hall or place used for the
purpose of public assembly;

B. In no event shall more than one-half of the total curb length in any block be reserved for loading zone purposes exclusive of the passenger loading zones at the entrances to public theaters;

C. Loading zones shall be indicated by a yellow paint line stenciled with black letters, “LOADING ONLY,” on the curbs within the zones;

D. Passenger loading zones shall be indicated by a white line stenciled with black letters, “PASSENGER LOADING ONLY,” on the curbing in the zones. (Prior code § 11.04.480)

10.36.020 Loading zones—Additional.

Whenever the traffic authority has determined that parking shall be limited and authorized signs or marks are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle for any purpose other than loading or unloading passengers or materials in any of the following places:

A. On any part of a roadway having a width of not more than twenty-five feet;

B. In front of any hall or place used for the purpose of public assemblage;

C. In front of the entrance to any place in use for business outside of the central traffic district;

D. At any other place where the parking of vehicles would result in traffic congestion or particular hazard. (Prior code § 11.04.550)

10.36.030 Bus zones—Established—Signs.

A. The traffic authority is authorized to establish bus zones directly opposite curb space for the loading and unloading of buses or common carriers of passengers engaged in local transportation and to determine the location thereof.

B. The city traffic authority shall designate bus zones by painting the curb red or by placing and maintaining appropriate signage.

C. It is unlawful for the operator of any vehicle except a bus or a common carrier of passengers engaged in local transportation to stop, stand or park said vehicle in a bus zone. (Ord. 4663 § 1, 2012; prior code § 11.04.560)
