Editor's note— Ord. No. 650, §§ 1, 2, adopted Feb. 26, 2013, amended ch. 2.12 in its entirety, in effect repealing §§ 2.12.010—2.12.120, and enacting new provisions in lieu thereof as § 2.12.010. Formerly, such provisions pertained to the fire department, and derived from prior code §§ 2-6.01—2-6.12.

Pursuant to the joint exercise of powers agreement creating the five cities fire authority, the five cities authority shall be deemed to be the fire department of the city of Arroyo Grande for all purposes related to ordinances, laws and regulations relating to the city or adopted by this code. All references in this code to "fire chief" or "fire department" shall be deemed to mean the fire chief of the five cities fire authority and the five cities fire authority, respectively.
