10.12.010 Driving through Processions.

No operator of any vehicle shall drive between the vehicles comprising a funeral procession or a parade, provided that such vehicles are conspicuously so designated. The directing of all vehicles and traffic on any street over which such funeral procession or parade wishes to pass shall be subject to the order of the Police Department.

10.12.020 Clinging to Moving Vehicle.

No person shall attach himself with his hands, or to catch on, or hold on to with his hands or by other means, to any moving vehicle or train for the purpose of receiving motive power therefrom.

10.12.030 New Pavement and Markings.

No person shall ride or drive any animal or any vehicle over or across any newly made pavement or freshly painted markings in any street when a barrier sign, cone marker or other warning device is in place warning persons not to drive over or across such pavement or marking, or when any such device is in place indicating that the street or any portion thereof is closed.

10.12.040 Obedience to Barriers and Signs.

No person, public utility or department in the City shall erect or place any barrier or sign on any street unless of a type approved by the City Traffic Engineer or disobey the instructions, remove, tamper with or destroy any barrier or sign lawfully placed on any street by any person, public utility or by any department of this City.

10.12.050 Traffic Barriers.

No person shall operate a vehicle contrary to the directions or provisions of any barrier or sign erected:

A. Pursuant to the provisions of any ordinance of the City of Adelanto; or

B. By any public utility; or

C. By any department of the City of Adelanto; or

D. By any other person pursuant to law or contract with the City, nor shall any unauthorized person move or alter the position of any such barrier or sign.

10.12.060 Obstructing Intersection Traffic.

No operator of any vehicle shall enter an intersection or a marked crosswalk unless there is sufficient space on the other side of the intersection or crosswalk to accommodate the vehicle he is operating without obstructing the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians, notwithstanding any traffic control signal indication to proceed.

10.12.070 Animals in Unattended Vehicles.

No person shall leave an animal in any unattended vehicle without adequate ventilation or in such a manner as to subject the animal to extreme temperatures which adversely affect the animal’s health or welfare.

10.12.080 Vehicle Operation in Public Parks and Lands.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate, drive, move, park or leave standing in or upon any public park or public lands, any motorized vehicle, except upon parking facilities or roadways designed and established for vehicular traffic, without written authorization from the Chief of Police or his authorized representative. This authorization shall be presented upon demand to any peace officer.

10.12.090 Vehicles on Private Property.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or drive or leave any vehicle in, over or upon any private property without the written permission of the owner thereof, or the person entitled to the possession thereof for the time being, or the authorized agent of either, and that such person, upon request of a peace officer, display such written permission.
