12-3-500 - Fire Hydrants.

The District shall install or will arrange for the installation of fire hydrants within certain section of its service area for public fire protection, for use only by authorized public fire protection agencies. Such hydrants shall be under the joint control of the District and Windsor or Rincon Valley Fire Protection Districts, and no person may use or tamper with same without the express permission of the District or Fire District.

If private fire hydrants are required by the Fire District, the connection shall be made on the District mains with no check valve restrictions. The customer shall pay the connection fees and all applicable service charges for private fire hydrants.

12-3-505 - Relocation of Hydrant.

If a property owner or other party desires a change in size, type or location of an existing hydrant, that party shall bear all costs of such relocation or change. Any such change must be approved by the governing Fire District.

12-3-510 - Fire Line Service.

When a fire line service connection is installed, the valve governing same will be closed and sealed and remain so until a written order is received from the owner of the premises to have the water turned on. The District shall have the right to place a meter on the fire service line at the customer's expense. The District may provide a domestic, commercial or industrial service connection from the fire service connection at the curb to supply the premises to which the fire service is connected.

12-3-515 - Check Valves for Fire Lines.

No pipe or main shall be installed as a fire protection sprinkler line, without the installation of double detector check valves with detector meter. Installation of such valves is subject to the approval of the General Manager as to design and location in accordance with the standards adopted by the Board.
