2.4.005. - Assessor and Tax Collector.

Pursuant to the authority granted by Section 51501 of the Government Code of the State of California, the assessment and tax collection duties performed by the City Assessor and Tax Collector hereby are transferred to the Assessor and Tax Collector of the County of Los Angeles.

2.4.250 - Finance Director.

There is hereby created and established the office of Finance Director.

2.4.260 - Transfer of Duties of City Clerk to the Finance Director.

A. The powers and duties imposed upon the City Clerk by Chapter 4, Part 2, Division 3, Title 4 of the Government Code of the State are hereby transferred to the Finance Director in accordance with Section 37209 of the Government Code.

B. The financial and accounting powers and duties imposed upon the City Clerk by Sections 40802 through 40805 of the Government Code of the State are hereby transferred to the Finance Director, as authorized by Section 40805.5 of the Government Code.

C. The Finance Director shall furnish a corporate surety bond to be approved by the Council in such sum as may be approved by the Council, and shall be conditioned on the faithful performance of the duties imposed on the Finance Director as herein prescribed.

2.4.270 - Duties of the Finance Director.

The Finance Director shall perform the following accounting and financial duties in addition to those provided for in Section 2.4.260:

A. Administration of the financial affairs of the city.

B. Maintain a general accounting system and records which will accurately reflect the city financial transactions, and prepare financial statements and performance reports which will clearly show the financial condition of the city including revenue, expenses and capital assets.

C. Assure the maintenance of inventory records of surplus and capital assets, and assure that an annual inventory is accomplished for all stock and supplies.

2.4.280. - City Treasurer.

Subject to Government Code Section 36506, the City Treasurer shall have a four-year term of office. The City Treasurer shall receive a stipend of three hundred dollars ($300) per month as compensation.
