Ventura Municipal Code Art. 5 Acceptance of Expenditure Ceilings

A. Each candidate for office, at the time of filing the candidate’s nomination papers, shall file a statement accepting or rejecting the expenditure ceilings in Article 4 of this chapter.

B. If a candidate declines to accept the expenditure ceilings in Article 4 of this chapter, the candidate shall be nonetheless subject to the contribution limitations in Article 3 of this chapter.

C. A candidate who agrees to accept the expenditure ceilings in Article 4 of this chapter may not change that decision, except that if any opposing candidate files a statement of rejection, then the candidate may rescind the candidate’s acceptance within 10 calendar days of the last date for filing nomination papers; provided, that the candidate has not accepted any contributions in amounts greater than the limitations set forth in Article 3 of this chapter, Section 2.215.310(A).
