10.750.110 Purpose.¶
This chapter is intended to fulfill the requirements of the California Gambling Control Act which requires owners of card rooms to obtain state gambling licenses. (Ord. No. 2006-006, § 2, 4-3-06)
10.750.120 Definitions.¶
“Card room” means a business establishment that features games of chance consisting of poker or other card games that may be lawfully conducted under the laws of the state of California.
“Owner” means a natural living person or other legal entity which holds a valid license for a card room from the state of California and city of San Buenaventura.
“Transfer” means a passing of ownership or administration of any kind or character, including, without limitation, a change to administration by an executor of an estate, trustee, conservator, or any similar or comparable change or passing of actual ownership or administration except for a legal transfer. 10.750.130 Prohibition.¶
Except as specified by this chapter, any person operating or maintaining a card room within the city is guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. No. 2006-006, § 2, 4-3-06)
