2580 - License required.

Any person specified under the provisions of Section 4205.5 of the Civil Code may solemnize marriages after obtaining a license as hereafter provided.

2581 - Persons eligible for license.

A person possessing either a degree or certificate in religion, or the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, who performs religious services or rites on a regular basis at a nonprofit religious institution whose articles of incorporation are registered with the Secretary of State is eligible for a license under this chapter.

2582 - Persons who may be married by licensee.

A holder of a license under this chapter may solemnize, without fee, the marriage of persons who are affiliated with or are members of the religious institution for which the licensee performs religious services or rites on a regular basis.

2583 - Term and fee.

A license under this chapter shall be for a term of three (3) years from issuance and the fee shall be fifty dollars ($50).
