3611 - CHECK CASHER PERMIT REQUIRED

No person shall conduct the business of check casher without a valid check casher permit issued by the Director.

No person shall engage in the business of check casher without a valid state check casher permit issued by the California Department of Justice.

3613 - REGULATIONS FOR CHECK CASHERS

a Compliance with State Law

Check cashers shall comply with all applicable provisions of California Civil Code Section 1789.30 et seq.

Check cashers shall post a complete, detailed, and unambiguous list of all fees for check cashing services in plain view in clear, legible letters of not less than one-half inch in height.

A check casher shall post in plain view a list of valid identification which the business will accept for cashing checks in clear legible letters of not less than one-half inch in height.

A check casher permittee shall not transfer or assign a check casher permit.
