9.17.010 - Department created.

There is hereby created effective April 1, 1992, a department of the county to be known as the county department of environmental health. All references in the Tehama County Code or other ordinances of the County of Tehama to the "division of environmental health" shall hereafter be deemed to read "department of environmental health."

9.17.020 - Office created.

There is hereby created effective April 1, 1992, the office of director of environmental health. The director of environmental health shall be appointed by the board of supervisors and shall hold office at the pleasure of the board of supervisors.

9.17.030 - Powers and duties.

The director of environmental health shall have the following powers and duties:

A. To manage and supervise the operation of the department of environmental health, subject to the powers and duties of the Tehama County health officer as such are provided for in the statutes and regulations of the State of California and the ordinances, resolutions and other enactments of the County of Tehama;

B. To employ such employees and assistants in the department of environmental health as the board of supervisors may authorize and to supervise them in the performance of their duties;

C. To perform such other duties as the board of supervisors may assign to him or her from time to time.
