Tehama County Municipal Code Art. I Determination of Salary Step

A. The hiring authority with the approval of the board, may hire a new employee in such salary or wage step as is designated by the board, when such employee possesses superior qualifications for the position, or when such hiring is necessary because of recruitment problems.

B. Request for board approval under this section shall be made through the auditor or such other persons as the board may designate, who shall transmit said request to the board for their next meeting unless it is received too late for that purpose. Board approval must be obtained prior to the effective date of employment of the new employee.
