10.20.010 - Parking for seventy-two or more consecutive hours prohibited.

No person who owns or who has possession, custody or control of any vehicle shall park such vehicle upon any street or alley for seventy-two or more consecutive hours.

10.20.020 - Removal of illegally parked vehicles.

Any legally employed and salaried officer of the police department may remove a vehicle from a street or alley within the city under the following circumstances:

A. When a vehicle is parked or left standing on a street or alley for seventy-two or more consecutive hours in violation of this title;

B. When a vehicle is illegally parked on a street or alley in violation of any provision of this title forbidding standing or parking, and the use of such street, or portion thereof, is necessary for the cleaning, repair or construction of the street or alley, or for the installation of underground utilities, and signs giving notice that such vehicle may be removed are erected or placed by authorities of the city at least twenty-four hours prior to the removal;

C. When the use of the street or alley, or any portion thereof, is authorized by the authorities of the city for the purpose other than the normal flow of traffic for the movement of equipment, articles or structures of unusual size and the parking of such vehicle would prohibit or interfere with such use or movement, and signs giving notice that such vehicle may be removed are erected twenty-four hours prior to the removal;

D. When any vehicle is parked or left standing upon a street or alley when the city council has, by provisions of this code or by resolution, prohibited such parking or standing and signs giving notice that such vehicle may be removed are erected or placed by authorities of the city at least twenty-four hours prior to the removal.

10.20.030 - Procedure to remove and store vehicles.

In the event any vehicle is removed from a street or alley pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, the provisions ofArticle 3, Chapter 10, Division 11 of the Vehicle Code of the state, commencing with Section 22850 thereof, shall govern with respect to storage, liens and notices.
