2.16.010 - Payment¶
Salaries must be paid monthly, and on the first day of each month for the previous month; provided, however, that all moneys for fees, compensations, or otherwise, collected and chargeable for the city shall first be paid into the city treasury, and must be accompanied by a statement in detail of the aggregate amount thereof, must show the source from which derived, and must be duly verified by the officer making such payment.

2.16.100 - City Council Compensation¶
A. The compensation for the Mayor of the City of Sonora shall be two hundred sixty-two dollars and fifty cents ($262.50) per month and the compensation for all other City Council Members shall be two hundred eighteen dollars and seventy-five cents ($218.75) per month.
B. Any City Council compensation increase requires an updated ordinance to be considered in an open session of at least two regular meetings.
C. The increase will be effective for all council members after the beginning of a new term in office for any council member, which will be on or after July 1, 2024.
