Sec. 6-8.201. - Permit required.¶
It is unlawful for any person to engage in the purchase or other acquisition of wild edible mushrooms within the County for purposes of resale unless such person has in his possession a written Siskiyou County Mushroom Purchase Permit. The written permit required under this section shall be issued by the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department for a fee and shall set forth:
(a) The date of issuance of the permit;
(b) The type of mushrooms to be purchased;
(c) The name, address, and telephone number of the person to whom the permit is granted;
(d) A description of the location where purchase or acquisition activities will take place and the time frames within which such activities will take place; and
(e) No Matsutake or Boletus mushrooms with a cap diameter less than one and one-half (1 1/2) inches may be purchased;
(f) Purchasing must conform to the applicable provisions of California law with regard to weights and measures;
(g) The date of expiration of the permit.

Sec. 6-8.202. - Records.¶
Any person who engages in the purchase or other acquisition of wild edible mushrooms for which a permit is required under Section 6-8.201 shall, prior to such purchase or acquisition, visually verify that the seller or provider of mushrooms possesses a valid written mushroom harvest permit as described in Section 6-8.101. Further, such person shall keep written records of such purchases or acquisitions for a period of one year from the date of purchase or acquisition. The record shall be in the form of a serially numbered receipt book. The records shall be made available to any peace officer or USDA Forest Service law enforcement officer upon request and shall contain the following information:
(a) The date of purchase or acquisition;
(b) The name, address, telephone number, and signature of the person from whom the mushrooms were obtained and the date they were harvested. The signature of seller shall be under penalty of perjury;
(c) The number and expiration date of the seller's written mushroom harvest permit;
(d) The license number of any motor vehicle used to deliver the mushrooms for sale;
(e) The type and quantity (by weight) of mushrooms purchased or acquired from each seller;
(f) Price paid for the mushrooms; and
(g) A general description of the location, and, if applicable, the name and address of any private landowner from whose land the mushrooms were harvested.
