Siskiyou County Municipal Code Art. 1 Harvesting and Sale

It is unlawful for any person to harvest or remove wild edible mushrooms from a place within the County for purposes of sale, or to engage in the selling of such mushrooms within the County, unless such person has in his possession a written Siskiyou County Mushroom Harvest Permit or a USDA Forest Service Commercial Collection Permit. The written Siskiyou County permit required under this section shall be issued by the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department for a fee and shall set forth:

(a) The date of issuance of the permit;

(b) The name, address, telephone number, and driver's license, social security number, or other form of identification acceptable to the County of the person to whom the permit is granted (the permittee);

(c) The name, address and telephone number of the owner of any private land or premises from which such mushrooms may be taken as well as a description of any private land or premises from which the mushrooms may be taken. The description may be by legal description, assessor's parcel number, or other description clearly identifying the premises. Subsequent to issuance of the permit and prior to any harvest or removal activity, the permittee shall obtain said owner's signature on the permit;

(d) The amount and kind of mushrooms to be taken. The amount shall not exceed any amount which may be set forth in the permit;

(e) The date of expiration of the permit.

Permittee shall adhere to the harvesting regulations contained in the permit which shall be substantially similar to the harvesting regulations set forth in the USDA-Forest Service Commercial Mushroom Collection Permit.
