7-1.801 - Planting: Permits: Applications.¶
The applicant for a permit to plant trees or other plants in a right-of-way shall be subject to the provisions of Chapter 3 of this title.

7-1.802 - Planting: Permits: Denial.¶
The Street Superintendent may refuse to issue a permit authorizing the planting of trees or other plants in a right-of-way in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3 of this title.

7-1.803 - Planting: Placement.¶
No tree shall be planted within twenty (20′) feet of the intersection of one street right-of-way line with another street right-of-way line.

7-1.804 - Removal and trimming.¶
The trimming and removal of trees shall be permitted only in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3 of this title.

7-1.805 - Lawns and ground covers.¶
The planting and maintaining of lawns or ground covers in the public right-of-way shall be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3 of this title.

7-1.806 - Lawns and ground covers: Use by public.¶
The public may not be denied the use of the planted area within public rights-of-way for pedestrian or other lawful uses. The City may use such planted areas for any purpose and may issue a permit to any applicant to perform encroachment work pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and Chapter 3 of this title. If the lawn or similar ground cover is damaged in the course of an authorized encroachment, the permittee who caused the damage shall be responsible for the replacement of such lawn or ground cover, unless the permit specifically states otherwise.

7-1.807 - Visibility obstructions.¶
No hedge, shrub, or other planting, fence, or other structure shall be planted, erected, or maintained in a right-of-way without a permit, upon any sidewalk or shoulder, or in such a manner which impedes, obstructs, denies, or impairs the sight distance for safe pedestrian or vehicular traffic or which is not in accordance with the applicable provisions of Chapter 3 of this title.

7-1.808 - Maintenance.¶
The permittee shall maintain hedges, shrubs, other plantings, fences, and similar structures in a neat and orderly condition and in compliance with the applicable provisions of Chapter 3 of this title. If the encroachment is not so maintained, the Street Superintendent may direct the permittee to remove the encroachment and restore the right-of-way to its former condition at the expense of the permittee.

7-1.809 - Abuse and mutilation.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to dig up, pick, break off, cut, or destroy any native tree, plant, berry-bearing shrub, fern, or wild flower, or to pick, break off, or cut any bud, bloom, or blossom from any of such plants, trees, or shrubs, growing within 300 feet of the middle of any leveled road or street within the City, unless, in the case of private lands, the owner thereof gives his written consent thereto.
