8.44.010 - Prohibited within National Forest boundaries—Exceptions.¶
Within the National Forest boundaries in the county it is unlawful for any person to ignite or smoke cigars, cigarettes or other forms of tobacco or narcotics between this date and October 15, 1950, and thereafter each year from the period of June 15th to October 15th, inclusive:
A. While traveling on foot, cycle, or domestic animal in grass, brush, timber or other inflammable vegetative cover and in areas posted against smoking;
B. Smoking is permitted as follows:
In improved campgrounds, or
Inside vehicles on roads, or
At places of habitation, or
While stopped in a cleared or barren area of at least three feet in diameter;
C. Provided, however, that in all instances burning and glowing substances are completely extinguished before discarded.

8.44.020 - Enforcement officers designated.¶
In order to carry out the provisions of this chapter, any State Fire Warden or Deputy State Fire Warden, is made a peace officer, empowered to make arrests under the provisions of this chapter in accordance with Sections 4009 and 4011 of the state of California Public Resource Code.
