8.12.010 - Permit—Required.¶
A. It is unlawful for any person, firm, association, or corporation to possess, discharge, or ignite any firecracker, detonating contrivance, bomb or fireworks of any kind or description within the boundaries of the county of Shasta, without first having obtained a permit for possessing or discharging and igniting from the county fire warden.
B. No person shall sell, offer for sale, or distribute fireworks of any kind or description within the county without first securing a fireworks permit from the fire warden as provided in the Uniform Fire Code.
C. No person shall discharge or ignite any fireworks of any kind or description within the county without first securing a fireworks permit from the fire warden as provided in the Uniform Fire Code.
D. Every fireworks permit shall include the following on its face in bold type:
WARNING
THE HOLDER OF THIS PERMIT MAY BE LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY RESULTING FROM THE DISCHARGE OR DISPLAY OF THE FIREWORKS FOR WHICH THIS PERMIT IS ISSUED.
E. As used in this section, the term "fireworks" has the meaning set forth in Section 201, Article 2, of the Uniform Fire Code.

8.12.020 - Permit—Issuance requirements.¶
A. No permit authorized by the provisions of this chapter shall be issued unless and until any required permit fee has first been paid.
B. Any permit authorized to be issued by this chapter is null and void if issued in violation of any provision of this chapter.

8.12.030 - Permit—Limitations.¶
The permits provided for in Section 8.12.010 shall be granted only to a person, firm, association or corporation sponsoring an event at which fireworks are to be discharged or displayed. The permit shall provide that the permittee is responsible for the distribution of the fireworks and the manner in which they are used.

8.12.040 - Violation—Penalty.¶
Any person, firm, association or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars or more than two hundred fifty dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not less than five days nor more than three months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
