13.04.260 - Delinquent fees.

All monthly wastewater service fees as set forth in Section 13.04.205, and increased wastewater hookup fees as set forth in Section 13.04.220D shall become delinquent if not paid within the periods therein specified.

13.04.265 - Penalty and interest on wastewater fees.

All wastewater treatment service fees which have become delinquent as set forth in Section 13.04.260 shall bear a one-time penalty of ten percent of the principal amount due. In addition, interest at the rate of one and one-half percent per month from the date which the delinquency commenced may be charged on all due but unpaid delinquencies. The penalty and all interest shall be added to the principal amount due, which shall continue to bear interest at the said rate until paid. In the event a delinquency occurs, the owner of the premises shall immediately be notified in writing of the delinquency. The notice shall contain the amount due, the due date, information regarding the accrual of any penalty and interest, and a description of the premises.

13.04.270 - Lien procedure—Use of tax roll.

All fees which have become delinquent as set forth in Section 13.04.260, and which remain unpaid for a period of sixty days shall become a lien against the real property to which the delinquency relates, and shall be collected pursuant to proceedings conducted in accordance with the provisions of Article 4, Chapter 6, Part 3, Division 5 of the California Health and Safety Code (Sections 5470 et seq.), and for these purposes this chapter is hereby declared to be adopted pursuant to such provisions. In accordance with these provisions, at the conclusion of the requisite proceedings, which may be conducted one or more times per year as the city determines to be appropriate, the delinquent amounts shall be collected on the tax roll in the same manner, by the same persons, and at the same time as, together with and not separately from, general taxes of the city.

13.04.275. - Other remedies.

The city may provide otherwise for the collection of delinquent charges. All remedies in this section provided for their enforcement and collection are cumulative and may be pursued alternatively or collectively as the city determines.
