Sec. B14-21.1. - General.¶
It shall be the duty of every person to make the suppression and prevention of fire their first or primary consideration while using any Park Area. No person shall make any wasteful or negligent use of combustible materials.

Sec. B14-21.2. - Fires.¶
(a) No fire shall be built, lighted, or maintained within any Park Area except in a camp stove or fireplace provided in areas designated for such purposes.
(b) All campfires must be extinguished before leaving any Park Area unattended.
(c) The Director may restrict fire use. Each person in a Park Area shall comply with these restrictions.
(1) Without a Valid Permit issued by the Director, no person shall build, light, or maintain a fire when notice is given that no fires are allowed. Notice of such restrictions or requirements will be conspicuously posted or otherwise provided.
(d) The Director may restrict fires to charcoal or gas stoves only in designated areas. Each person in a Park Area shall comply with these restrictions.
(1) Without a Valid Permit issued by the Director, no person shall build, light or maintain a fire using restricted materials when notice is given that fires utilizing such materials are prohibited. Notice of such restrictions or requirements will be conspicuously posted or otherwise provided.
(e) A person who violates or fails to comply with any part of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Sec. B14-21.3. - Removal of combustible materials near fires.¶
Any person building a campfire shall remove all dead wood, moss, dry leaves, and other combustible or flammable material a minimum of five feet (or such greater distance as needed or required by other law or County policies) from open flame in order to minimize fire danger.

Sec. B14-21.4. - Flammable materials.¶
Flammable materials, fuels, and hazardous materials are not allowed in buildings or facilities located in Parks. However, fuel may be used in a camp stove or fireplace provided by the Department in areas designated for such purposes.

Sec. B14-21.5. - Fireworks prohibited.¶
(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, no person shall possess or use any fireworks or pyrotechnic device of any kind in any Park Area, except by Valid Permit issued by the Director. No Valid Permit shall be issued for model rockets. The Director may impose any reasonable conditions on the issuance of any Valid Permit, including, but not limited to, the payment of fees, Deposits, and bonds to cover costs. Such a Valid Permit shall only authorize the use of fireworks by persons who possess valid pyrotechnic operator licenses issued by the State Fire Marshal.
(b) A person who violates or fails to comply with any part of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Sec. B14-21.6. - Smoking.¶
Smoking is prohibited on, in or upon Park Property consistent with Subsection B13-82(c) of Section B13-82 of Division B13 of this Code.
