6-4200 - WORDS AND PHRASES DEFINED.¶
For the purpose of this chapter certain words and phrases and their derivatives shall be construed as specified in this section.
(a) "Motor vehicle" means any self-propelled device by which any person or property may be propelled, moved, or drawn, except a device used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. Such phrase includes, but is not limited to automobiles, trucks, buses, tractors, motorcycles, motor scooters, minibikes and dune buggies.
(b) "Posted property" means any property specified in Section 6-4201 of this chapter which is posted in the manner provided in Section 6-4202 of this chapter.
(c) "Sign" means a board, placard, or card not less than one (1) square foot in area and upon which, in lettering not less than two (2) inches in height appear the words, "Operation of Motor Vehicles Forbidden by Law."

6-4201 - PROPERTY SUBJECT TO POSTING.¶
Any property within the county may be posted against operation of motor vehicles in the manner provided in Section 6-4202 of this chapter and thereby become posted property subject to the provisions of this chapter. The provisions hereof shall not apply to the following property:
(a) An established and existing right of way for public road purposes; or
(b) Any property which comes within the provisions of Section 554 of the Penal Code of the State of California.

6-4202 - METHOD OF POSTING.¶
Property may be posted against operation of motor vehicles in the following manner:
(a) If the property does not contain any lineal dimension exceeding three hundred (300) feet, by posting signs at each corner of the area and at intervals not exceeding one hundred (100) feet, and if such property has a definite entrance at each such entrance.
(b) If the property has lineal dimensions exceeding 300 feet, by posting signs at each corner of the area and at intervals not exceeding 300 feet, and if such property has a definite entrance at each such entrance.

6-4203 - OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES PROHIBITED.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle within or upon posted property without the written permission of the owner, tenant or occupant in legal possession or control of such property.

6-4204 - EXEMPTION—PEACE OFFICERS, ETC.¶
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the entry upon posted property in the course of duty of any peace officer or other duly authorized public employee.

6-4205 - DESTRUCTION OF SIGNS—UNLAWFUL.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person without authority to tear down, deface or destroy any sign posted pursuant to this chapter.

6-4206 - PENALTIES.¶
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to violate or refuse to obey any of the foregoing rules and regulations.
(b) Any person or persons who violate, or who shall knowingly aid or abet a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
(c) The provisions of section 1-2002 of this code which provide for a citation form of arrest shall be applicable to arrests for any and all violations hereof.
