2-5500 - QUALIFICATION FOR STATE AID.¶
The Board declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the State under the provisions of Chapter 1 of Title 4 of Part 4 of the Penal Code.

2-5501 - ADHERENCE TO STANDARDS.¶
Pursuant to Section 13522 of the Penal Code, the County while receiving aid from the State pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 4 of Part 4 of the Penal Code will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.

2-5502 - PEACE OFFICER AUTHORITY.¶
Pursuant to the authority of Section 832.6(b) of the Penal Code, any person who is issued a level I reserve officer certificate by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training prior to January 1, 1981, shall have the full powers and duties of a peace officer as provided by Section 830.1 of the Penal Code.

2-5503 - CERTIFICATION.¶
Prior to January 1, 1981, the Sheriff-Public Administrator shall:
(a) Determine which persons are qualified by reason of training and experience to perform general law enforcement duties; and
(b) Certify, either individually or by class, to the commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training those persons determined qualified.

2-5504 - PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER DISPATCHER PERSONNEL.¶
The provisions of this chapter relating to standards and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training and the County's adherence to those standards shall apply equally to public safety dispatcher personnel of the Sheriff's Office.
