San Fernando Municipal Code Div. 1 Generally

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Person means and includes any person, firm or corporation, association, club, copartnership or society, or any other organization.

Purveyor means and includes any person, whether or not a city resident, who engages in the business of selling or soliciting to sell ice cream or similar products from an automotive vehicle.

This article shall not apply to the following:

(1) Any person distributing food products from house to house, on an established route, where a license has been issued under some other section of this Code.

(2) Commercial agents or salespersons for wholesale houses or persons of a firm selling any commodity or service to or soliciting orders from fixed places of business when any such agent or salesman is licensed under some other section of this Code.

(3) Activities for which a permit is issued under article III of chapter 58 of this Code.

No person or vehicle licensed under this article shall stop the vehicle for purposes of selling or soliciting to sell within one block in any direction of a school, whether public or private, or in any other areas deemed unsafe by local law enforcement personnel.

Any person who violates any section of this article shall be guilty of an infraction.
