Sec. 10-106. - Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Card games or playing cards mean and include all games played with cards where there is wagering or gambling on the outcome of the games.

Card room means any place maintained, operated or conducted, in whole or in part, for the purpose of providing a place where card games are played and where compensation, donations or fees are received or charged, directly or indirectly, for the privilege of playing cards.

Person means every individual, firm, association, partnership, joint venture and corporation, whether acting as principal or agent, manager, clerk, employee or servant, either for or on behalf of himself or for any other person, firm, association, copartnership, joint venture, corporation or other entity owning, operating or proposing to operate a card room.

Sec. 10-107. - Unlawful acts.

It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly engage in the playing of cards or card games for money in any card room or for any person to participate in any game of chance played for money with cards. However, it shall not be unlawful to participate in a tournament of duplicate bridge where there is no wagering or gambling on the outcome of the games.
