§ 12.24.010 BOND REQUIRED.

Each contractor shall execute and file with the city a good and sufficient surety company bond for labor and materials in the sum of not less than one-half of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract for any public works; provided that the amount exceeds $2,000 at the time of execution of the contract.

§ 12.24.020 COMPLIANCE WITH STATE STATUTE.

The provisions of such bond as required in § 12.24.010 shall be in accordance with the provisions of the general law set forth in the Cal. Gov’t Code, Title 1, Division 6, Chapter 10.5, as now in effect and as hereafter amended unless otherwise provided by ordinance.

§ 12.24.030 PREVAILING WAGES.

Under and pursuant to the Cal. Labor Code, § 1770, the Director of Industrial Relations determines the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the city for each craft or type of worker or mechanic. Such rates shall be applicable to any public works contract, as such term is defined under the Cal. Labor Code, §§ 1720 et seq., of the city.
