Sec. 20-101. - Increasing state speed limit in certain zones.

It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon the following streets is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signposting of such streets as through highways and by reason of widely spaced intersections, and the prima facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof:

Abbott Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, from John Street to Chamberlain Street.

Alisal Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with John Street and terminating at its intersection with Bardin Road.

Alvin Drive. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with North Main Street and terminating at its intersection with Cherokee Drive.

Thirty-five miles per hour, from the westerly city limits to Natividad Road.

Bardin Road. Thirty-five miles per hour commencing at its intersection with Williams Road and terminating at its intersection with E. Alisal Street.

Boronda Road. Forty-five miles per hour commencing at its intersection with North Main Street and terminating at its southeasterly terminus.

Central Avenue. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Villa Street and terminating at its intersection with Clark Street.

Constitution Blvd. Forty-five miles per hour commencing at East Laurel Drive and terminating at intersection with Boronda Road.

East Alisal Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, from the termination point of the existing twenty-five-mile-per-hour speed limit zone at the westerly side of Front Street and extending in an easterly direction to the easterly side of Williams Road.

East Bernal Drive. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing with its intersection with North Main Street and terminating at its intersection with Natividad Road-Sherwood Drive.

East Laurel Drive. Thirty-five miles per hour from Natividad Road to North Main Street.

East Laurel Drive. Forty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Sanborn Road and terminating at the northerly city limits.

East Market Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at the easterly line of Front Street and terminating at the westerly line of Sanborn Road.

Moffett Street. Thirty-five miles per hour commencing at its intersection with Airport Boulevard and terminating at its easterly terminus.

East Romie Lane. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Los Palos Drive and terminating at its intersection with California Street.

Front Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its inter-section with John Street and terminating at its intersection with East Alisal Street.

Independence Blvd. Thirty-five miles per hour commencing at Constitution Blvd. and terminating at intersection with Boronda Road.

John Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, from Wood Street to East Alisal Street.

North Main Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing from a point approximately one thousand feet south of Bernal Drive at the junction of State Highway Route 101 and terminating at its intersection with Chaparral Street.

Rossi Street. Forty miles per hour commencing at Davis Road and terminating at intersection with North Main St.

Sanborn Road. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Terven Avenue and terminating at its intersection with East Laurel Drive.

Sherwood Drive. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with East Market Street and terminating at its intersection with Calle-Cebu—East Rossi Street.

Sherwood Drive—Natividad Road. Forty-five miles per hour commencing at a point one hundred feet north of the north side of the bridge overcrossing of U.S. 101 and terminating at the northeasterly city limits.

West Alisal Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with San Vincente Avenue and terminating at its intersection with West Blanco Road.

West Laurel Drive. Thirty-five miles per hour, from North Main Street to the westerly city limits.

Williams Road. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with East Alisal Street and terminating at the easterly city limits.

Sec. 20-102. - Decrease of state maximum speed.

It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law outside of business and residence districts as applicable upon the following streets is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets, and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof:

Abbott Street. Forty-five miles per hour, commencing at a point five hundred twenty feet southeasterly from its intersection with East Blanco Road and terminating at the easterly city limits.

Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Chamberlain Street and terminating five hundred twenty feet southeasterly from its intersection with East Blanco Road.

Airport Boulevard. Forty-five miles per hour commencing at the westerly curbline of Skyway Boulevard and terminating at its intersection with De La Torre.

Blanco Road. Forty-five miles per hour, commencing with its intersection with Abbott Street and terminating approximately three hundred forty feet southwest thereof, being that part of Blanco Road within the boundaries of the city.

East Laurel Drive. Forty-five miles per hour between Natividad Road and St. Edwards Drive.

East Romie Lane. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing with its intersection with Los Palos Drive and terminating at its intersection with Abbott Street.

Harkins Road. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at the southerly city limits on Harkins Road and terminating at its intersection with Hansen Street—Schilling Place.

North Davis Road. (a) Forty-five miles per hour commencing at Boronda Road/U.S. 101, and terminating at the northerly boundary of Westridge Center (a point approximately two thousand three hundred fifty feet north of its intersection with Westridge Parkway).

(b) Thirty-five miles per hour commencing at the northerly boundary of Westridge Center (a point approximately two thousand three hundred fifty feet north of its intersection with Westridge Parkway), and terminating three hundred feet southerly of Larkin Street.

(c) Forty-five miles per hour commencing three hundred feet southerly of Larkin Street, and terminating at its intersection with West Rossi Street.

North Main Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Chaparral Street, and terminating at its intersection with Massa Street.

Rossi Street. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at its intersection with Natividad Street and terminating at its intersection with North Davis Road.

Sanborn Road. Thirty-five miles per hour, commencing at a point on its centerline on the city limits located approximately sixty feet southerly of the prolongation of the centerline of Mayfair Drive and terminating at a point on its centerline five hundred feet northerly of the prolongation of the centerline of Terven Avenue.

Forty-five miles per hour, commencing at a point on its centerline five hundred feet northerly of the prolongation of the centerline of Terven Avenue and terminating at its intersection with Abbott Street.

San Juan Grade Road. Forty-five miles per hour commencing at its intersection with North Main Street and terminating at the northeasterly city limits.

Sherwood Drive. Thirty-five miles per hour commencing at the northerly curbline of East Rossi Street—Calle Cebu, and terminating at a point one hundred feet north of the north side of the bridge overcrossing of U.S. Rte. 101.

West Blanco Road. (a) Thirty-five miles per hour between the westerly curb line of South Main Street and a point six hundred twenty feet west of the westerly curb line of South Riker Street.

(b) Forty-five miles per hour between a point six hundred twenty feet west of the westerly curb line of South Riker Street and the westerly city limits situated three hundred thirty feet west of the westerly curb line of San Vincente Avenue.

Skyway Boulevard. Thirty-five miles per hour commencing at the southerly curbline of East Alisal Street and terminating at its intersection with Airport Boulevard.

Sec. 20-103. - Regulation of speed by traffic signals.

The city traffic engineer is authorized to regulate the timing of traffic signs so as to permit the movement of traffic in an orderly and safe manner at speeds slightly at variance from the speeds otherwise applicable within the district or at intersections, and shall erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof.
