Rosemead Municipal Code Ch. 12.04 Streets and Sidewalks Generally

A. Except as hereinafter provided, Title 16 , Highways, of the Los Angeles County Code as amended to and in effect on July 1, 1999, is adopted by reference as an ordinance of the city. Said ordinance as so constituted and from time to time amended shall constitute and may be referred to as the "Street permit Ordinance of the City of Rosemead."

B. One copy of Title 16 , Highways, of the Los Angeles County Code has been deposited in the office of the City Clerk and shall be there maintained by the City Clerk for use and inspection by the public.

Wherever any of the following names or terms are used in Ordinance No. 3597 of the county of Los Angeles, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section as follows:

"Board of Supervisors" means the City Council of the city of Rosemead.

"County," "County of Los Angeles" or "Unincorporated Area" means the city of Rosemead.

"Highway" or "County Highway" means a street within the city of Rosemead.

"Road Commissioner" of the county of Los Angeles, or "Commissioner" means the Superintendent of Streets of the city of Rosemead or such other person as may be appointed by the City Council to perform the functions of a superintendent of streets.

Notwithstanding any other provision of Chapter 12.08 and this chapter, the City Council may establish and amend, by resolution, a schedule of fees for the purpose of defraying the expense involved in providing those services authorized by this chapter.

Every person who violates any of the provisions of Sections 12.04.010 through 12.04.030 is guilty of a misdemeanor and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of Sections 12.04.010 through 12.04.030 is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

The Master Plan of Streets and Highways of Los Angeles County insofar, and to the extent that such plan relates to territory within the city limits of the city of Rosemead as they now exist and as hereafter altered by annexation is adopted as the "Master Plan of the Streets and Highways of the City of Rosemead." The City Clerk is directed to keep on file in the City Clerk's office for the use of the public, three copies of the Master Plan of Highways of Los Angeles County to the extent that the same relates to territory within and immediately adjacent to the city of Rosemead.
