2.10.010 - Office created; appointment by city manager.¶
A. There is created and established the office of the city clerk.
B. The city manager is authorized to appoint and dismiss the person that serves as the city clerk.

2.10.020 - Residence.¶
The appointed city clerk is not required to be a resident of the city.

2.10.030 - Bond.¶
The city clerk must execute a surety bond in an amount set by the city manager, the premium on which will be paid by the city.

2.10.040 Powers - and duties.¶
The city clerk has the powers and duties provided by law, ordinance, the city council, and the city manager. These powers and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
A. Attend all meetings of the city council.
B. Prepare the minutes for city council meetings.
C. Have custody of and be responsible for the city seal and all books, records, papers and archives belonging to the city.
D. Prepare and maintain an index of all records in the clerk's custody.
E. Administer and supervise the city's records management program.
F. Administer and supervise municipal elections.
G. Administer all oaths and take affidavits in matters relating to city business.
H. Administer and supervise the publication of legal notices and ordinances of the city.
I. Attest the signatures of city officers on documents that have been executed as authorized by resolution, ordinance, or statute.
J. Process all claims filed against the city and its officers, agents, or employees.
