2.20.010 - Created.¶
A planning commission for the city is hereby created.

2.20.020 - Membership.¶
The planning commission will consist of seven members who must be residents of the city and registered voters, but may not be city employees, during their respective terms of office. Members of the commission will be appointed by the city council. All members appointed to terms beginning January 1, 2012, and thereafter will be appointed to terms of two years each. If a vacancy occurs, such vacancy will be filled by appointment by the city council. Any member of the commission may be removed from office with or without cause by the majority vote of the city council.

2.20.030 - Organization.¶
The mayor, with the approval of the city council, shall appoint the chairman and vice-chairman who shall serve for a term of one year. The planning commission shall adopt rules for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions and proceedings, which shall be public records.

2.20.040 - Duties.¶
The city planning commission shall perform the duties and shall have all the rights provided for herein and by state law, except no expenditure of any public moneys shall be authorized unless first approved by the city council.

2.20.050 - Meetings—Timing.¶
The date and time of each regular meeting of the planning commission will be set by resolution of the city council.

2.20.060 - Meetings—Absence without cause.¶
If a member of the planning commission is absent from three successive regular meetings of the commission, without cause, the office of such member shall be deemed to be vacant and the term of such member ipso facto terminated. The secretary of the planning commission shall immediately inform the city council of such vacant office.

2.20.070 - Meetings—Absence for cause.¶
An absence due to illness or an unavoidable absence from the city shall be deemed absence for cause; provided, that notice thereof is given to the secretary of the planning commission on or before the day of any regular meeting of the commission.
