9.12.010 - Discharge of firearms prohibited.

Except as provided otherwise in this chapter, no person shall discharge within the city any firearm of any kind, character or description without a permit issued by the chief of police.

9.12.020 - Exception.

The provisions of Section 9.12.010 shall not apply to:

A. The discharge of firearms with blank cartridges at bona fide funeral ceremonies and athletic events;

B. Peace officers in the discharge of their official duties and using reasonable care; and

C. Persons using firearms in necessary self-defense and in defense of livestock.

9.12.030 - Violation.

Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of an infraction.
