16.156.010 Purpose. ¶
The purpose of this Chapter is to provide standards to mitigate dangerous or objectionable environmental impacts of office, commercial, and industrial uses, pursuant to the health and safety policies of the General Plan. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16 156.020 Applicability of Performance Standards.
The provisions of this Chapter apply to office, commercial, and industrial uses in the City of Ripon. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.030 Air Quality. ¶
All emissions are subject to the rules and regulations of the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.040 Combustibles and Explosives. ¶
The use, handling, storage and transportation of combustibles and explosives must comply with the Uniform Fire Code. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.050 Hazardous Materials. ¶
The use, handling, storage and transportation of hazardous materials must comply with the California Hazardous Materials Regulations. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.060 Heat and Humidity. ¶
Uses, activities and processes may not produce any unreasonable, disturbing or unnecessary emissions of heat and humidity, at the boundary line of the property, that cause material distress, discomfort, or injury to the average person. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.070 Electrical Disturbances. ¶
Uses, activities, and processes may not cause electromagnetic interference with normal radio or television reception in residential districts or with function of other electronic equipment beyond the property line. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.080 Light and Glare. ¶
Exterior lighting must be energy efficient and shielded or recessed so that direct glare and reflections are contained with the boundaries of the parcel, and must be directed downward and away from adjoining properties and public rights-of-way. No lighting shall blink, flash, or be unusually high intensity or brightness. All lighting fixtures shall be appropriate in scale, intensity, and height to the use it is serving. Security lighting must be provided at all entrances and exits.

16.156.090 Noise. ¶
A. The maximum noise/sound pressure level radiated by any use or facility at the points of measurements specified in section 16.156.090 B, shall not exceed the computed noise level values specified in the Noise Table in section 16.156.090 C, after applying corrections, except that normal household appliances or equipment in use during the hours of seven a.m. to seven p.m. shall not be subject to these regulations. The sound pressure level shall be measured with a sound level meter using a slow response and a dB weighting of A or with analyzing equipment which will provide equivalent data.

Except in the M-1 and M-2 districts, at the lot line of the establishment or use in any district.
In the M-1 and M-2 districts, at the district boundary or five hundred (500) feet to the exterior wall of the establishment or use, whichever is less.

16.156.100 Odor. ¶
No use shall`emit any obnoxious odor or fumes. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.110 Water Pollution. ¶
No person or use shall discharge liquids of any kind into a public or private sewage system, water course body of water, storm drain, or ground, except in compliance with applicable regulations of the City of Ripon and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board. 16.156.120 Vibration. ¶
No vibration associated with any use shall be permitted that is discernible beyond the boundary line of the property. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
16.156.130 Evaluation of Proposed Projects. ¶
Applicants for industrial, commercial or office development may be required by the City to submit evidence as is necessary to determine whether the project complies or will comply with the provisions of this Chapter. (Ord. 606, 1999; Ord. 774, §1, 2009)
