3.52.010: ESTABLISHMENT:

There is established a water fund to provide for administration, operation and maintenance of the Redlands domestic water system and its capacity to serve its existing users. The following rules shall apply:

A. All service charges and all miscellaneous charges not otherwise designated shall be credited to the water fund. The water fund shall be operated as an enterprise fund. All interest on the cash balance of the fund shall accrue to the water fund.

B. Established within the water fund are a reserve for capital and a reserve for legal.

  1. The reserve for capital shall be in addition to the annual capital replacement budget, to establish a fund for capital expenditures necessary due to unforeseen or unusual capital costs in any year, necessary to maintain the existing system and its capacity.

  2. The reserve for legal shall be in addition to the annual budget for legal costs, to establish a fund for legal expenditures due to unforeseen or unusual legal costs in any one year. (Ord. 2964, 2024: Ord. 1949 § 1, 1986: prior code § 59102)
