9.24.010 - Sale of unwholesome food— Prohibited.¶
No person shall bring within the corporate limits of the city, or expose or offer for sale, or sell, supply, furnish or give away, to any person, for human food the following:
A. The flesh of any animal or fowl which, when killed, was sick or diseased, or that died by means other than being regularly slaughtered; or the flesh of any calf, unless in a good, healthy condition and at least four weeks of age when slaughtered;
B. Blown, meager, diseased or bad meat, poultry or game, or unsound, diseased or unwholesome fish, fruit, vegetables or other market produce;
C. Unwholesome, watered or adulterated milk, or milk from any cow or other animal fed in whole or in part upon still slops, or any other food calculated to render the milk of the cow or animal unwholesome or unsuitable for human food, or any milk from any sick or diseased cow or other animal;
D. Any article which is unwholesome or unsuitable for human food.

9.24.020 - Sale of unwholesome food— Evidence.¶
Any article or animal, or flesh of any animal, that is offered or exhibited for sale, in any market, or elsewhere, as though it were intended for sale, shall be deemed offered and exposed for sale within the intent and meaning of Section 9.24.010.

9.24.030 - Inspection—Stamp required.¶
No person, nor the agent or employee of any person, shall sell, have for sale, keep, or expose for sale, or have in his possession for sale or exchange for other things of value, within the city, any beef, veal, mutton, lamb, pork or any meat food product made from any of the same intended for human consumption, unless such beef, veal, mutton, lamb, pork or meat food product shall have first been inspected by an agent of the state department of agriculture, or an approved municipal inspection service, in accordance with the terms of Division 3, Chapter 1, Article 1, of the Agricultural Code, or by an agent of the United States Bureau of Animal Industry, and shall bear the stamp, "California Inspected and Passed."

9.24.040 - Inspection—By health officer.¶
The health officer may inspect any and all meats, fowl, milk, fish, vegetables or other products sold, exposed or offered for sale, or brought within the city limits to be used for human food, and condemn all such thereof as are sold, exposed, or offered for sale, or brought within the city limits contrary to the provisions of this chapter. All such articles condemned by the health officer shall be immediately destroyed, or removed outside of the city limits, as provided for the removal of other garbage.

9.24.050 - Food establishment loading platforms.¶
Every person selling food for human consumption, either prepared or unprepared and who receives deliveries of food outside of an enclosed building, shall construct and maintain a suitable and adequate platform at his business establishment at least eighteen inches above the street or ground level where he receives deliveries of food in any form or state whatever. All persons making deliveries of foods, to such business establishment, in any form or state whatever, shall place the food on the platform or in an enclosed building.
