Former ch. 11.32 pertained to similar subject matter and derived from prior code §§ 8-1—8-3. 8-5, 8-7, 8-9; Ord. No. 1447, § 1, adopted in 1979; and Ord. No. 2118, § 1, adopted in 1995.

11.32.010 - Operation location regulations.

A. The city council may, by resolution, prohibit, restrict or regulate the driving or operating of bicycles on bridges in the city.

B. When signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall drive or operate a bicycle contrary to the directions of such signs.

C. The city council may, by resolution, prohibit, restrict or regulate the driving, operation or possession of bicycles within any pedestrian mall in the city.

11.32.020 - Use of unclaimed bicycles or toys for prevention of juvenile delinquency.

Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 217, as amended from time-to-time, any personal property in the possession of the police department which have been unclaimed for a period of at least ninety days may, after notice provided pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 217 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, instead of being sold at public auction to the highest bidder pursuant to the provisions of Section 2080.5 of the Civil Code, be turned over to the county probation officer, the county welfare department, or any charitable or non-profit organization which is authorized under its articles of incorporation to participate in a program or activity designed to prevent juvenile delinquency and which is exempt from income taxation under federal or state law or both, for the use in any program or activity designed to prevent juvenile delinquency.
